Winter Fun Races into Caro January 22 – 24, 2010
Grab your hat, gloves, snow boots and the family, and race to the Caro 150 Winter Fest and Snowmobile Races. This hometown festival is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat as you watch the racers zoom around the track competing for fame and glory.
Join the Caro community as they welcome racers and friends from across Michigan and beyond for three days of winter family fun and the thrill of professional snowmobile racing. The event kicks off with a downtown open house and live entertainment, and continues throughout the weekend with community-wide shopping and restaurant specials, and many other exciting activities.
Be sure to bundle up for the races, which take place at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds. Should you get a chill while watching the race, stop by the warming tent to heat up with live entertainment, a variety of winter-themed contests, door prizes, fireworks, and much more. Food and other goodies are available for purchase in the tent as well. And you never know who you might see wandering around; such as, the Caro 150 Winter Fest mascot – Penelope the Penguin! Kids can enjoy hanging out and getting their pictures taken with Penelope. Click here for a few glimpses of the fun had by the organizers, Penelope and the racers at last year’s event.
Saturday’s races feature Sprint pro, semi-pro and junior, and Vintage. On Sunday, the Kitty Kat races take place early followed by the 150 mile Enduro race. Before the big race, though, you can mingle with the racers and get up close to the snowmobiles at a meet-n-greet on the track. The professional snowmobile racing is overseen by Midwest International Racing Association (MIRA) and includes teams from all over the state and beyond. Interested racers can find out more at www.miraracing.com.
Admission is $10 for the two days of winter fun. Children 12 years old and under get in free with a paid adult admission.
