Having been interested in helping the communities and region by getting involved with many committees and organizations since retiring 1999. The committees and organization are, Tuscola County Planning Commission since 2005_Chairperson; Saginaw Bay Coastal Initiative (5 counties) member since 2006; Tuscola County Parks and Recreation 2005-2009_ Chair for 4 years; Farm Bureau Land Use Committee 2004_ member for 5 years; East Michigan Council of Governments since 2008_Excutive Board, Treasurer (14 counties); Regional Economic Development Team, member since 2008 (14 counties); Greater Thumb Agri-Business Corporation 501(c)3 as Board-Secretary since 2014. Partnership for the Saginaw Bay Watershed 501(c)3 2015 director (22counties) Thumb Tourism Council 501(c)6 2015_ Director-Secretary.
Steve Erickson is a Director of the Thumb Area Tourism Council Board. He is the Executive Director of the Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation. Steve has several years of experience in management, marketing, and business entrepreneurship. Steve is very active in his community and currently serves as the, Director of the Greater Thumb Agri-business Corporation, and Director of the Thumb Area Tourism Council.
Jim McLoskey serves as the District Representative for State Senator Mike Green and enjoys meeting with business managers and residents to help make the district a better place to work, live and play. He has also worked as the director of the Tuscola County EDC and Small Business Development Center, editor of the Cass City Chronicle, and news director for WKYO and WIDL Radio. One of his favorite tourism places to visit is the Thumb Octagon Barn near Gagetown in Tuscola County.
Glen Roth is the Treasurer of the Thumb Tourism Council Board. He is the Office Manager the Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation and President of Bear Property Management and the President Garfield’s Inn in Port Austin, Michigan. Glen has a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Michigan State University and Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting from Saginaw Valley State University. He has done Post-Graduate work at Davenport University in Entrepreneurship. Glen is active in the community and has served on many local boards and committees.
She is President of the Millington Chamber of Commerce, holds a seat on the Southern Links Management Council and the Millington Planning Commission.
Relocated to the Greater Thumb Area of Michigan from Chicago, IL in 1986 when he came to Flint, MI. as a field engineer to automate Buick City and Flint, MI. Truck and Bus plants. The project was a four-year R&D program and during that period fell in love with the area and decided to stay. Doug started his professional career in 1974 with Mitsubishi International CNC Machine tool industry in Sales, services, and Marketing. Doug remained in the machine tool world until the early 1990s and transitioned into Real-Estate and certified inspections in 1992. Doug has formed three Michigan based Corporations, Visual aid Inspections (Inspections) Consolidated Quality Services (Quality Consulting). And a non-profit FSPS for raising scholarship. Doug currently manages Consolidated Quality Services (CQS) and is the Owner and Manager of Greater Thumb Real-Estate located at 19 E. Ohmer Rd. Mayville, MI. 48744. 989 843 7355. Doug raised three sons in Millington, Michigan and a member of the Millington Chamber of Commerce.
